JOB TITLE: Legal Assistant – Regulatory Law
EXPERIENCE: minimum 12 months’ experience required
LOCATION: Leicestershire
SALARY: £31,000
THE ROLE:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a busy membership body in the East Midlands. The successful Legal Assistant will work directly with the teams’ Associate Solicitor and support on a caseload of professional discipline matters. The appointed candidate will be required to assist on a variety of tasks to include, but not limited to, the below:
• Giving advice on complaints against fitness to practise
• Collating documents and reviewing & summarising complex case files
• Overseeing a caseload of high profile matters which require urgent attention
• Assist the Associate Solicitor to triage cases including arranging case conferences
• Drafting and presenting
• Leading meetings in the absence of the Associate Solicitor
THE CANDIDATE:
This role is ideal for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal who has previous experience working in professional regulation, in particular handling complaints. Drafting and presenting experience is key in order to be successful in this role, along with the confidence to work alongside other lawyers and senior members of the organisation. Excellent verbal and written and communication skills are therefore essential.
