Legal Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Court of Protection department of this highly regarded law firm based in central Sheffield. This role is ideally suited to a law graduate who has an interested in working in this area of law. This is a busy and varied role where you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to Paralegals to enable them to manage their caseloads and provide services to our clients.

Duties will include:

To provide support to the Paralegals in the Trust and Court of Protection Administration Team

Working alongside other fee earners on a variety of tasks related to the ongoing administration of client matters.

Preparing cash reconciliation statements

Reviewing bank statements and other cash statements, and reconciling payments

Liaising with 3rd parties, clients, and other professionals

Opening bank and investment accounts, paying invoices, preparing asset, income, and expenditure statements

Updating our case management system.

Providing cover during colleagues' absence in all areas as required

Maintaining an awareness of Lexcel and internal procedures, processes and guidelines

 The Ideal Candidate

Office experience is desirable

Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant or Legal Administrator is beneficial

Good IT skills

Ability to empathise with the varying needs of our clients

Good time management and organisational skills

Ability to communicate with people at all levels in all situations
