SalaryEventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Cashier for a law firm based in Wokingham, Berkshire. An exciting opportunity to join a friendly Accounts department, reporting into the Chief Financial Officer and providing competent and efficient financial services to the firm. You will be rewarded with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, hybrid working and BUPA cashback plan.
Role Responsibilities
The incoming Legal Cashier would ideally have previous experience in Legal Cashiering or have previous financial experience with a desire to develop their skillset.
Key tasks will include:
- Processing outward CHAPS and Bacs payments
- Allocation of client receipts
- Bank reconciliations
- Taking card payments from clients both via telephone and in person
- Processing Purchase Ledger invoices on the accounts system
- Posting of Office Disbursements including Land Registry, court fees, and other search fees
- Banking client and office cheques/cash as and when required
- Processing Counsel fee notes onto the purchase and relevant client ledgers
- Monitoring and responding to queries within the Accounts shared inbox
- Other Accounts administrative tasks as required
Person Specification
The successful Legal Cashier will have strong communication skills both written and spoken with a ‘can do’ attitude. You will also have:
- Previous Legal Cashier experience
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients of all levels
- Professional and conscientious, taking pride in a job well done
- Good team player
- GCSE (or equivalent) level education including Maths and English
- Excellent IT skills – Training can be given on accounting software
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
