We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel with extensive experience in Contract, Corporate and Data Protection Law. Our client are a fast-growing technology based business who has built a market leading position in energy data and services. As their Legal Counsel you will be responsible for managing all the legal affairs on behalf of our client, providing advice and engaging external counsel as appropriate.
The role is offered with Hybrid working consisting of 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
Key responsibilities of the Legal Counsel:
- Manage Company Corporate legal affairs (Shareholder agreements, contract negotiation and reviews, company secretarial)
- Manage the Group approach to commercial contracts, working closely with the commercial team
- Data Protection Responsibilities
- Manage all Litigation (internal advice and court preparation, seek external counsel as appropriate)
- Manage all company Property (leases, seek external counsel as appropriate)
- Employment law support (give internal advice and Employment Tribunal management)
- Trade Union liaison
- Participate and respond as applicable in Group Board meetings (including to external investors)
- Intellectual Property management
- External complaints advice and management
Skills & Knowledge required of the Legal Counsel
- Fully qualified Solicitor within England and Wales and 5PQE +
- Extensive experience in contract law
- Experience of corporate law and company secretarial
- Knowledge of Data Protection law
- Can disseminate complex legal advice for anyone to understand.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
