Legal Manager
Salary: Grade A - £52,737 to £63,045 (National Framework) or £58,139 to £68,447 (London Framework –if you are London office based or home-based and live within the boundary of the M25). There is also an
additional 5% supervisory allowance for this role and a homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity
Location: Office-based (Leeds or London) or home-based

provided across England. We are now looking for a Legal Manager to join us on a full-time basis for a twelve-month fixed term contract.

What you will bring…
To be considered as a Legal Manager, you will need:
- To be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, entitled to practice in England and Wales
- Post-qualification experience
- Proven experience of managing a qualified legal team
- Advocacy experience
- Experience of managing caseloads, advising on legal matters, and managing enforcement activity
- Experience of analysing risk and benefit within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, presentation and engagement skills with the ability to present complex information in an accessible format
- Highly effective networking and relationship-building skills
What you’ll be doing
As our Legal Manager, you will manage a team of legal professionals, ensuring they deliver sound legal advice across our organisation.
Specifically, you will oversee the provision of legal advice to Directorates and ensure that our activity aligns with relevant legislation.
Leading our Transformation Legal team, you will ensure that our new ways of working and our transformation programme are in accordance with the legal requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and the Mental Health Act, among other regulations. Our transformation programme is focused upon reviewing and renewing our regulatory approach, involving health and care service providers, the public and other stakeholders in developing our work. As this will have legal ramifications, this role will be vital in delivering our transformation programme as a whole.
Additionally, you will:
- Work closely with heads of department in the delivery of work
- Ensure that resources are deployed to critical areas
- Make sure that support is available for case work
- Provide legal advice and guidance
- Offer innovative solutions to complex challenges
