They are now seeking a dedicated and confident Legal Secretary to join their Criminal Team, reflecting their ongoing commitment to providing top-tier legal support.As a Legal Secretary within the Criminal Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the department's legal professionals. This position demands a highly organised, accurate, and initiative-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment. You will be directly involved in a variety of tasks that require a keen attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.Responsibilities:
- Diary Management: Efficiently manage and organise calendars to ensure smooth operations.
- Legal Aid Portal: Submit bills and handle related administrative tasks with precision.
- Audio Typing: Produce accurate documents based on dictation, requiring excellent typing skills.
- Communication: Handle sending and receiving emails, client contact, and liaising with both internal staff and external parties to ensure effective communication channels.
- Travel Arrangements: Organise travel plans as required to support the team's needs.
- Document Drafting: Assist in drafting legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy.
- General Administration: Undertake various administrative duties to support the team, including but not limited to filing, photocopying, and document management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Applicants must have a background in criminal law and legal work.
- Education: Minimum GCSE levels 4-9 (A to C) or higher; equivalent qualifications will be considered.
- Skills: A good and accurate typing speed is essential. Applicants should have a positive approach to working under pressure, strong administrative and organizational skills, a good level of IT competency, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
