Job description

We are working with an organisation providing a service within the social housing sector who are looking to recruit a Lettings & Renewals Coordinator on a permanent basis.

You will be joining at an exciting time in which the Asset & Housing management functions are being moved to the organisation, and a new team is being developed.

The Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating the smooth and efficient management of lettings of properties and renewal of expiring tenancies.

Key Responsibilities include:

Property Marketing and advertising

  • Creating and maintaining property listings across various online platforms and marketing channels.
  • Developing property descriptions and high-quality images to attract potential tenants.
  • Monitoring market trends to ensure competitive pricing and positioning of rental properties.
  • Dealing with new enquiries and negotiate rents to maximise income.

New Tenant Verifications and Referencing

  • Receiving and processing applications and enquiries from prospective tenants.
  • Conducting background and credit checks to assess tenant suitability.
  • Coordinating property viewings and communicating with prospective tenants.
  • Verifying referencing with 3rd party agent.

Tenancy Compliance Management

  • Preparing tenancy agreements and ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Assisting tenants in the lease-signing process and provide them with necessary information.
  • Keeping records of tenancy terms, security deposits, and other financial transactions
  • Arranging inventory clerks and issuing of keys for new tenants.

Administrative tasks

  • Maintain organised records and documentation related to new tenancies and renewals.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates for property management.

  • A relevant housing/property qualification (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of social housing regulation and an understanding of best practice and industry leading developments.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt this approach for different audiences.
  • Excellent customer focus and a genuine desire to achieve excellence in all areas of responsibility.
  • Experience of working directly with residents in a strong customer service environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of effective use of customer engagement to support the delivery of more effective and targeted services
  • A proven track record of delivering new initiatives across a range of services
  • Experience of working with external partnership agencies
