We are seeking 2 enthusiastic Library Assistants to join our busy Customer Services Team to deliver front-line Library and Learning Services across the University. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic customer-facing environment, providing a high-quality experience for all library users.
About the Role
Collaborating as part of a wider team of Library Assistants you will manage the library’s reception desk in the Newton Park Library, as well as providing support to students and staff at our Locksbrook Road campus.
As part of your duties, you will help manage library stock, using the Library Management System, assist users with self-service operations, contribute to the maintenance of the library study facilities and environment and respond to enquiries and refer where appropriate.
You will always provide an excellent customer experience in person as well as remotely, answering questions via email, phone and through our online Chat service.
About You
You will be enthusiastic about providing an excellent level of customer service and be able to draw on skills acquired through previous experience to prioritise the delivery of front-line library services to our students and staff.
You will be comfortable with new and changing technology, be detail-oriented with proven skills for accurate work, and an excellent communicator with the ability to adapt your approach to different customer needs.
You will also be able to demonstrate good collaborative and team working skills for shared projects and responsibilities, and will have a creative, pro-active approach to problem solving.

This position is onsite working (with the possibility of some working from home)
