What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement lifting plans and procedures for various construction projects.
- Establish, implement and provide guidance, training and management in best practice Lifting matters.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that appropriate control measures are in place for lifting activities, in compliance with UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and OSHA regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and crane operators to schedule lifting operations in accordance with project timelines.
- Manage and provide improvements for blu-3 Lifting process.
- Inspect lifting equipment regularly and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and certified, meeting the requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).
- Work with and support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Construction HSE, lifting Plans. Manage & provide support to Project teams in the development these Plans.
- Develop and implement Lifting campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with Management.
- Ensure management controls are in place so that all personnel are aware of their statutory and local jurisdiction duties and responsibilities, and to provide guidance as and when required.
- Carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and workplaces to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Processes and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
- Support in accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company process and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, contractors, and suppliers as needed, ensuring compliance with HSE standards.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices related to lifting operations, including updates to HSE regulations.
- Drive lifting best practices, standards and assist in the development of new standards.

- Attend and engage fully in any learning and development activities that are deemed appropriate by your line management.
- Carry out all work in accordance with HSE and any other legal & local requirements.
- Participate and engage fully in company appraisal / performance review processes and constantly work to improve your individual, team and the wider team’s performance.

What we’re looking for
- Recognised certificate / diploma.
- A61 Appointed Person Blue Card minimum 5 Years experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on lifting operations.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including UK HSE regulations, LOLER, and other applicable legislation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and other software
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Excellent presentation, persuasiveness and negotiating skills.
- Train the trainer or equivalent qualification.
