Overview:

One of the UK’s largest housing providers is seeking a Litigation Lawyer to be an essential part of the wider Legal Services Team and ensure a high quality, professional service is consistently delivered

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing their own caseload on matters such as disrepair/housing condition and EPA matters, ASB matters, tenancy fraud cases, access injunctions and possession claims, FTT applications etc.

Role & Responsibilities of the Litigation Lawyer:

• Assist in managing the commissioning of services from external legal service providers and from counsel
• Prepare documents such as claim forms; particulars of claim; defences; reply to defences; part 20 counterclaims; injunctions; committal applications, FTT applications, internal reports, witness statements; case summaries; lists of issues and chronologies
• Undertake legal research and advocacy
• You’ll have sufficient IT skills (in particular regarding Microsoft Office suite and Outlook) and
• Present information in a variety of forms to a high standard
• Develop and implement processes and procedures within housing management litigation and contentious property legal work
• Be party to highly confidential and sensitive data and the ability to maintain confidentiality

Essential Skills & Experience of the Litigation Lawyer:

• Qualified solicitor or enrolled barrister or CILEX Lawyer
• Legal drafting skills
• Competent drafting skills
• Good eye for detail
• Sufficient IT skills
• Experience using case management systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Package of the Litigation Lawyer:

• £53k equivalent
• 3 month contract
