Overview:
One of the UK’s largest housing providers is seeking a Litigation Lawyer to be an essential part of the wider Legal Services Team and ensure a high quality, professional service is consistently delivered.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing their own caseload on matters such as disrepair/housing condition and EPA matters, ASB matters, tenancy fraud cases, access injunctions and possession claims, FTT applications etc.
Role & Responsibilities of the Litigation Lawyer:
- Assist in managing the commissioning of services from external legal service providers and from counsel
- Prepare documents such as claim forms; particulars of claim; defences; reply to defences; part 20 counterclaims; injunctions; committal applications, FTT applications, internal reports, witness statements; case summaries; lists of issues and chronologies
- Undertake legal research and advocacy
- You’ll have sufficient IT skills (in particular regarding Microsoft Office suite and Outlook) and
- Present information in a variety of forms to a high standard
- Develop and implement processes and procedures within housing management litigation and contentious property legal work
- Be party to highly confidential and sensitive data and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Essential Skills & Experience of the Litigation Lawyer:
- Qualified solicitor or enrolled barrister or CILEX Lawyer
- Legal drafting skills
- Competent drafting skills
- Good eye for detail
- Sufficient IT skills
- Experience using case management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
