To provide day to day line management for the Planning Policy Team, which currently comprises five team members responsible for: • The preparation, monitoring and review of the Local Plan Review, and associated documents (SPDs, AMR, IDP etc); • Providing inputs to strategic planning; • The co-ordination of development proposals for major sites;
Generic Duties
1. To be responsible for the day-to-date preparation, adoption and monitoring of the Local Plan.
2. Project manage the preparation of the Local Plan and the Infrastructure Delivery Plan, and their various constituent documents, in accordance with the milestones set out in the Local Development Scheme
3. Leading on the provision of advice on the interpretation / implementation of planning policies forming part of the Development Plan (i.e. London Plan, current Local Plan). 4. Co-ordination of liaison with the Greater London Authority (GLA) with respect to the London Plan and associated guidance, including the preparation of formal consultation responses and participation in Examinations in Public.
5. Leading on statutory processes associated with the Local Plan system, such as Duty to Cooperate.
6. Co-ordination of responses to Government and other consultations.
7. To provide expert policy guidance to the Development Management team and other services of the Council as required
8. To work proactively with Regeneration, Housing, Development Management and other Council teams
Requirements
- Degree level or equivalent in town planning or a related subject
- Eligible for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or other equivalent body
- Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of Local Planning, infrastructure planning, the London Plan, NPPF and associated legislation and guidance
- Working knowledge of relevant Health, Safety & Welfare Legislation and approved Code of Practices
- Working knowledge of relevant Employment Legislation and Approved Codes of Practice, and Best Practice in staff management
- .Knowledge and understanding of statutory development plan implementation and requirements for successful urban regeneration
Contract
- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (5 Days In Office)
- PAYE via Umbrella
- Initial 6 month contract with tyhe opportunity to extend
