The below job description will outline this position: Logistics and Procurement Coordinator

Working as the Logistics and Procurement Coordinator you will help support the commercial operations of a maritime business based in South Shields & the South coast. You will responsible for coordinating and assisting with various commercial activities, including contracts, logistics, sales, and customer service.

Duties and responsibilities of the Logistics and Procurement Coordinator:

• Work closely with goods in to make sure that deliveries are on time and correct
• Assist in drafting, reviewing and managing contracts
• Coordinate contract execution, filing and keep records
• Making sure that company policies and procedures are being followed
• Coordinate logistics activities, including arranging shipments, tracking shipments, managing shipping documentation, and coordinating with freight forwarders and other service providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any logistical issues
• You will be expected to help assist the sales manager with sales activities such as preparing sales quotations, responding to customer inquiries, processing orders, and managing customer accounts
• Challenge any discrepancies or issues with invoices and work with finance professionals to resolve them
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of commercial activities, including contracts, sales orders, shipments, and other relevant data

Qualifications and requirements of the Logistics and Procurement Coordinator:

• 2+ years of experience in commercial coordination, logistics, or related roles in the maritime or shipping industry
• Strong understanding of military and commercial operations, including contracts, logistics, sales, and customer service
• Confident in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software or tools used in the maritime industry
