Job description

Job Specification:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance for corporate and M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and related matters.
  • Offer legal support for financial and restructuring projects.
  • Assist the Group post-NYSE listing.
  • Provide practical, commercial, and strategic legal advice to senior management and commercial teams.
  • Evaluate and consider various inputs and impacts of strategic and commercial decisions, including their legal implications.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial and technology agreements related to the Group.
  • Contribute to board materials at subsidiary and PLC levels.
  • Offer legal expertise and advice to Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory functions on risk management, compliance, governance, and reputation management.
  • Manage external legal resources to ensure comprehensive and cost-effective legal support across the Group's business.
  • Anticipate and respond to new legislation, summarizing and communicating its implications for the Group.
  • Ensure alignment with Legal and CLRO functions across the Group, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices.

Experience:

We seek a lawyer with a minimum of 2 years' PQE, although PQE is not the sole criterion. Essential qualifications include solid experience in corporate transactions, preferably with an international dimension.

Candidates typically possess experience in highly regarded law firms and in-house roles, either through client secondments or permanent positions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with people are paramount. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in translating complex legal matters and articulating legal alternatives' pros and cons while maintaining a commercial focus. The role necessitates the capacity to challenge senior business stakeholders.

While familiarity with the gambling industry or an interest in sports is advantageous, an eagerness to comprehend Flutter's business and work in a global, technology-driven sector within a dynamic regulatory environment is essential.

Experience in antitrust is desirable but not mandatory.

Candidates should be self-starters, capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced environment, and managing a diverse workload effectively.
