Machine Operator

Red Rock Partnership Limited are delighted to be working with our prestigious client in Airdrie who are looking for Machine Setters to join their busy team.

About The Role:

As Machine Setter, you will be responsible for supporting production activity, maximising line performance at start up and during shift. You will promote best operational practice whilst validating the process and equipment. The type of equipment you will be responsible for includes: tray denesters, depositors, film/tray sealing machinery, X-Ray and Metal detectors. This role will be working in a Chilled Food Manufacturing environment

Hours of work :

Monday to Friday 15:45-00:30

These are the core working hours and flexibility with start and finish times is required.

Pay rate :

12.69 per hours and a 0.50 ph shift allowance if working backshift.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Take appropriate action to resolve/close any performance gaps in relation to equipment/machinery
• Document and monitor line performance carrying out any equipment or product tests required to validate the process and equipment
• Take responsibility for performance and decision and promote ownership of performance
• Utilise performance data to challenge constructively existing practices and to promote continuous improvement initiatives
• Carry out all duties in line with Food Safety legislation, BRC and customer food safety requirements
• Ensure that all work is carried out to the standard required by Production Management
• Record and communicate hazards, risks and near misses
• Provide holiday/absence cover for Team Leaders

About you:

• Previous experience within FMCG manufacturing environment of packing and/or processing equipment or machinery/ Experience of operating high speed food processing and packing equipment
• Good IT skills
• Food Hygiene Level 2
• Good team player, working to a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to communicate with all levels e.g. shop floor through to senior management
