Culzean Textile Solutions Ltd is at the forefront of the development and manufacture of specialised, technical textile products with worldwide customers.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Machine Operators to join our team.
You will be based at our factories in Irvine and/or Kilmaurs. You will be producing various industrial and medical grade fabrics by operating complex, industrial scale, textile warping and knitting machinery. This include minding warping and knitting machines, packing and documentation of goods, reloading machines with both heavy lifting equipment and fine, intricate manual work.
No previous experience in textiles manufacturing is required as full training will be given.
Based on a 39 hours week, the starting pay rate is £11.44 per hour (or minimum wages for your age if under 21) until probation is passed, which is expected around 6 months of employment when a shift allowance is added where applicable.
A motivated operator with good attendance and a positive, professional, and conscientious attitude can earn above £24K per annum within a year, and can rise afterwards depending on experience, skill level progression and shifts. A skilled and professional operator, striving for excellence, can expect to earn around £3000 per annum above the ongoing national living wages, regardless of their age, after 3 to 5 years, depending on aptitude and attitude and up to £5000 per annum above the ongoing national living wages when highly skilled and experienced in a range of our machinery.
Every progression path is tailored according to the individual aptitude. Opportunities for outside training is offered as appropriate for each individual (Forklift license, Overhead Crane, Health and safety, First aid, etc…)
Required skills and behaviours:
- Car or transport to reach both locations, KA11 5DH and KA3 2SE, for shifts (7am start for morning shifts and 10.30pm finish for evening shift)
- Good attention to detail
- Aptitude for intricate manual work, good eyesight, and dexterity
- Problem solving attitude
- A high standard of numeracy and literacy skills
- Showing initiative and motivation
- Positive attitude to change and continuous improvement.
