Machine/Slitter Operator

GMP Recruitment are proud to partner a Leading provider of the highest quality and most cost effective packaging materials development and production. We are recruiting on their behalf for a Slitter/Machine Operator to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, based in Worcester.
Working schedule is - Monday to Friday. With a 3 week shift rotation Pattern: Days, Lates and Night shifts.

The preferred candidate should be an experienced Slitter/Machine Operator who is used to working in a busy environment, operating and maintaining the slitting machine with the process of macro hole punching.

Slitter/Machine Operator Main Duties:

• Operate a Slitting Machine with macro hole punching of materials.
• Enabling the Slitting Machine to run at optimum speed
• Once unloaded, wrap finished rolls of film and load onto pallet
• To achieve set targets on a daily basis, whilst producing work of the highest quality and producing an excellent finished product.
• Checks for product quality and removes any defective material
• Follow a set production plan
• Good computer skills to input data
• Loads and unloads rolls from the machine
• General operative tasks including lifting and moving parts, checking for defects, working to tight deadlines.
• Supporting Logistics team where needed with the finished product to keep the flow of production stable
• Making sure all products are packaged and labelled correctly.

Slitter/Machine Operator and Experience Needed:

• Previous experience working within a similar manufacturing environment desirable.
• Working knowledge of slitting machines is highly desirable (however training may be given for the right candidate).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Willing to learn and progress.
• Effectively work within a busy environment.
• Handheld tools experience would be advantageous.
• Organisational skills and Adaptability.
• Good teamworking skills.
• Communication skills.

For all the above requirements the successful Slitter/Machine Operator will receive an annual basic salary of 24,958 per annum, plus the potential for hourly premiums for unsociable working hours and fantastic additional company fringe benefits.
