Salary: 33,000 - 35,000
Location: near Gerrards Cross
Hours: 37hrs per week (8am - 5pm Mon to Thurs & early finish on Friday of 8am - 12pm)
Benefits: Overtime 1.5x and 5 - 10 hours available a week. 9% non-contributory pension scheme, Healthcare Plan
Skilled Manual Machinist to join one of the world's leading Aerospace/Defence manufacturers in Middlesex
Manual Machinist tasks:
- Manual machining (primarily lathes/mills and also grinding machines)
- Mentoring apprentices and trainees
- Carry out basic maintenance on machines and tools
- CNC machining
- Produce high quality low batch components from drawings
- Self-inspection of machined parts
Essential experience:
- Ability to operate manual machinery e.g lathes/mills/grinding machinery
- Proven Self inspection skills using micrometers, vernier calipers etc
- Deburring experience/knowledge
- Extensive experience within precision manufacturing environments
- Prior experience with CNC machinery
Candidates that can demonstrate the following knowledge alongside the machining capabilities would be at a distinct advantage.
Understanding 5's, Continuous improvement, Kanban also CMM inspection knowledge
For all successful candidates, our client will undertake background security checks. As part of this, they will need to confirm your identity, employment history and address history to cover the past five years as well as your nationality, immigration status and criminal record. For positions that require Security Clearance, the successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain security clearance up to the relevant level for the role.
