We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our Maintenance and Contract Manager where you’ll lead our Planned and Cyclical key contractors, monitoring and driving performance to agree standards so we can deliver on our customer promise.  You’ll resolve any issues or disputes on contractual works, recognising the customer impact and develop engagement plans to ensure local communities are consulted with and onboard.

Typical day as Maintenance and Contract Manager

• You’ll lead your team to deliver a proactive, commercially driven and customer focused service, achieving our customer satisfaction levels, service standards and KPIs.  You’ll work across our regions to drive quality, cost, and continuous improvement. 
• You’ll build strong, positive relationships with our contractors throughout their lifecycle with us from the initial procurement steps through to parting ways.
• Customers are at the heart of everything you do.  Customer complaints and Contractual issues are investigated and acted upon quickly, sharing learning where things went wrong and to strive to get things right first time. You’ll hold our Contractors to account where performance has fallen short of our expectations.
• Clear control over budgets, keeping an eye on spend regularly and ensuring your team are working commercially, delivering value for money.
• Working closely with Craig, our Head of Planned and Cyclical to evolve our services and making it a great place to work for our teams.  You’ll use customer insight to develop new and improved services.

You bring

• Previous experience in a commercial management and construction environment, partnership working and project management.  You are confident to interpret contractual clauses, data, statistics, and insights to drive performance and to make commercially-sound recommendations.  
• PAS2035 Level 5 qualification.
• RICS or CIOB accredited Building Surveying degree or similar qualification, or strong equivalent experience built up through your working profession (that can be evidenced).
• A sound understanding of housing and building legislation and statutory compliance. 
• Able to find creative solutions and manage change to enable services to rapidly improve, bringing people with you on the journey.
• You’ll be a people manager able to effectively challenge performance and make it a great place to work for colleagues.
• A full current driving licence as you’ll work across the estates your responsible for.  

Our team  

You’ll be working as part of our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering a first-class maintenance solution to our customers.  Our director Paul has worked here at Home Group almost 3 years now, having worked in contact centres and maintenance environments for the past 14 years. Outside of work Paul enjoys a hectic social life and when not cooking is planning his next trip with his wife Victoria!  

You will have the support of a fantastic management team; you’ll work for Craig our Head of Planned and Cyclical who manages the delivery of the planned programme on a national level. 

Job details  

• The area you’ll cover spans from the Southwest to the Southeast, Greater and central London and as far north as Peterborough
• You can be based from any of our offices throughout the South
• You can work from home and travel to sites and offices as and when required.
• Monday to Friday working
