A fantastic opportunity has become available to join an amazing team in the heart of historic Durham.

Hotel Indigo, Durham is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join the team to assist with maintenance operations throughout the hotel. From preventative maintaining for the future to on-the-spot ad hoc requests, all whilst keeping guest focus at the forefront.

We are looking for someone who is hands on, and who has a sense of pride in their role. Someone who sees the bigger picture and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

To be successful in this role, you will have a high level of attention to detail, be a real team player and have a positive attitude. You will need a good understanding of hotel services along with experience within a similar role.

About Us

Located in the heart of the Historic city of Durham, the hotel mixes old with new in our Grade 2 listed building, within easy walking distance of the prime cultural, business and shopping districts. This boutique style hotel includes 83 uniquely designed guest rooms.

Our hotel restaurant (Marco Pierre Whites) offers relaxed, simple dining alongside local craft beers and eclectic cocktails. Our Neighbourhood Coffeeshop offers guests and the public a sanctuary to catch up on emails, read a book or meet friends for a catch up.

Our Council Room gives guests the opportunity to dine privately, run conferences or celebrate their special day with us, holding weddings for up to 60 guests.

Your day to day

• Working with the hotel Maintenance Manager to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checks are conducted.
• Adhering to Aimbridge and IHG policies regarding Health and Safety.
• Making sure that the hotel is compliant from a Health and Safety standpoint.
• Planned scheduled maintenance (painting, decorating, rooms maintenance, air con etc).
• Ad hoc maintenance requests, everything from changing lightbulbs to making sure that the hotel grounds are maintained and safe.
