We are currently looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join our team in Dowlow Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire. This role will report into the Maintenance Manager.
This role will appeal to those who are seeking a position in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with experience and passion of keeping heavy machinery operating at peak efficiency.
The successful candidate will ensure all electrical maintenance, operation and plant efficiency is optimised. With a focus on energy reduction and sustainability in order to maintain the safe, maximum level of availability and reliability at the lowest level of maintenance costs, covering all electrical equipment, installations and buildings on the plant.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment within the quarry, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Assist in the implementation of new projects.
- Adherence to all safety and environment regulations.
- Prompt troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The successful candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Electrician, ideally with an industrial background. You will be able to work with minimal supervision through analysis, judgement and initiative to resolve issues in a safe, time oriented and cost-effective manner.
Key Requirements:
- ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Time-served/apprentice-trained Electrical Engineering craftsman.
- Good working knowledge of electrical LV isolation.
- 17th / 18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certificate.
- A good understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.
- Knowledge & experience of medium/high voltage networks, including switching methods.
- A working knowledge of BS7671 inspection & testing – qualifications in this area would be desirable.
- Proficiency in using computers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Effective team player.
Desirable:
- PLC and VSD Experience.
- Work experience in a heavy industrial environment, such as a quarry.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment regulations.
