One of our clients is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to keep production machinery and equipment fully operational, whilst carrying out general site maintenance.
A few of the main duties as a Maintenance Engineer are -
- Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of all operational equipment.
- Responsible for reactive breakdown repairs.
- Carry out routine maintenance to all plant and services whilst maintaining accurate record keeping.
- Assist in the management of Health and Safety and Company policies.
- Assist in current and future projects.
As a Maintenance Engineer , there are a few technical requirements you must know / have, such as -
- Engineering experience and troubleshooting role gained within a FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and control systems.
- Previous experience programming PLCs
- Some basic fault diagnostic skills using PLC systems is essential (software and hardware)
- Knowledge of inverter drivers (control methods) and also 3 phase motors and controls
- Hold recognised engineering qualifications and be able to demonstrate both mechanical and electrical competences.
- Experience of general maintenance work and experience of PPM system
Maintenance Engineer qualifications:
- recognised engineering qualifications to HNC or equivalent;
- IEE 17/18th Edition
- Desirable: MEWP trained, FLT Trained, IOSH/NEBOSH Certified, Food Safety.
The working conditions for the Maintenance Engineer role are that you have to be hands on, as the business dictates; working under pressure, dynamic; in chilled or ambient environments. Working on alternative shift patterns including weekend work.
Flexibility required for shifts: 6.00 am – 14.00 pm , 14.00 pm – 10.00 pm and 7.00 – 15.30 pm plus a possibly of being on call out covering the night shift too.
