A leading global provider of aluminium architectural products is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to do front line repairs and preventative maintenance duties to minimise downtime, improve reliability and maximise operational output. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will have completed a time served NVQ level 3 apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical engineering subject, good understanding of PLC systems, and previous experience working with hydraulics/pneumatics and doing repairs and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a wide range of manufacturing equipment and ancillary equipment ranging from large machinery to site services
- Undertake front line repairs and perform both predicative and preventative maintenance activities to minimise plant downtime, increase machine reliability and maximise operational throughput
- Operate in a structured environment complying to the maintenance schedule to drive quality
- Liaise with manufacturing personnel regarding plant release, downtime estimation, plant hand backs and alternative/compromise solutions
- Provide an excellent service i.e. effective and efficient breakdown repairs
- Drive all EHS and quality procedures to follow company policies and to operate a fully flexible team
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies to create a safe working environment
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Completed a NVQ level 3 apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
- Good understanding of PLC systems
- Able to interpret circuit drawings in fault finding
- Excellent communication skills
- Experienced with hydraulics/pneumatics
- 1+ years Heavy Engineering experience and worked with industrial machinery
- Experienced in doing Risk Assessments, Method statements, LTV/LOTO, Conf space
- Fitting Skills (bench fitting skills)
- Slinging & Lifting Skills
- Understanding uneven loads
- Importance of alignment
Desirables:
- Extensive +5 years Manufacturing Experience (any industry)
- 1+ year Metal Industry Experience
- Higher NVQ / HNC Engineering field
- MEWP Licence
- Forklift Licence
- Crane Operator Licence
- Welding & Fabrication skills
- Continuous Improvement Techniques
- Implementing improvements and measuring / quantifying results
- Understand and have experience of EHS requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment
- To understand and have experience of applying safe systems of work such as Lock-Tag-Verify
- Be able to work within a fast-paced pressurized production environment
Salary: £47,000 to £54,000 DOE
