OVERVIEW
Are you a handyperson who strives to attain perfection? We are looking for a Maintenance/Handyperson to join our experienced Maintenance Team. In this role you will be responsible for keeping the convention centre facilities in optimum operating condition by performing preventive and reactive maintenance and repairs.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR …
You will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests as advised by the department, being very mindful of Health and Safety Legislation. You will also ensure good “work hygiene” to protect guest areas from damage. You need to be able to plan and prioritise work tasks, with the ability to react to urgent issues as they arise.
You will need to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, with the ability to be a self-starter, with the motivation to ensure that all of the convention facilities are in good working order.
WHAT YOU’LL DO …
Responsibilities to include the basic electrical, plumbing carpentry and decorating repairs. You will also be responsible for reporting any unusual finding or safety hazards immediately to the relevant person in line with our policies and procedures and understand and be able to practice convention centre emergency fire procedures.
You will ideally understand the following, however full and ongoing training will be provided :
1.Electrical Systems
2.Plumbing
3.Painting and Decoration
4.Carpentry Repairs
5.General building works
