The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Operations Director and will work closely with the Factory Managers to ensure all assets are correctly maintained to optimise the utilisation of the equipment and deliver maximum volume at the right quality across all factories.

Michael Page is working with working with an FMCG Manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance Manager to cover their sites within Greater Manchester. This organisation manufacturers and supplies own label and branded products to various major retailers across the UK.
Description
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Manage, lead and mentor a small team of engineers
- Ensure efficient running of all equipment across all sites
- To monitor and review machine breakdowns and plan to minimise disruption and cost impacts of machine failures
- Ensure the Health and Safety relating to machines on site is adhered to, monitored, managed and staff are fully trained in the risks
- Develop operational ideas to improve efficiency of machines
- Develop engineering team to ensure their skills and knowledge are at the required level to meet the business needs
- Implement and utilise OPEX tools such as SMED, 5s, TPM, 5 Why and Route Cause analysis
- Ownership and development of PPM schedule, ensuring it is consistently adhered to
- Drive the department reliability agenda including completion of root cause analysis (RCA) processes and drive / deliver the agreed actions to deliver key maintenance KPI's
- Development of engineering team covering training, development and identification of skill gaps
- Work closely with production planning team to schedule and conduct maintenance revies, servicing and repairs
Profile
The successful Maintenance Manager will possess a range of the following:
- Experience working in an FMCG production environment
- Experience in managing a team of Engineers
- Highly organised and ability to work autonomously
- Experience working to and developing site PPM systems
- Ability to effectively communicate and manage team members across a multi-site operation
- Understanding of H&S regulations (IOSH advantageous)
- Electrical bias with relevant and up to date electrical qualifications
- Relevant Engineering Qualification (Electrical advantageous)
Job Offer
Salary c. £40,000- £50,000
