Maintenance Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance manager to join a leading Global meat processing company based in Rochdale;
Salary: up to £50,000pa based on experience
Monday to Friday 8:30– 17:00 – some flexibility to work the odd weekend where maintenance is required
36 Days Holiday ( including the bank holidays)

As our Maintenance manager, you will lead a team of engineers to successfully maintain the equipment on the factory floor. Service site team covers refrigeration, compressed air, hot and cold water, vacuum system, HVAC and effluent treatment plant.
Our Maintenance manager will work alongside a team small team of engineers to ensure all required maintenance is of the machinery is conducted the regular maintenance to keep the equipment on the factory floor operational. You may need to engage with 3rd party companies to order parts and manage large scale fixes where needed.
You will need to be an experienced Maintenance manager within a similar setting, solid understanding of conduction quality assurance & safety checks whilst understanding site compliance regulations. You will also need to have solid experience of site services
Maintenance manager responsibilities:
Deliver on critical site KPIs and an ongoing maintenance programme.
Schedule PPM tasks as per manufactuers instructions or site best practice.
Ensure works following recommendations made in service reports or certification are generated.
Review certification for completeness and quality and escalate where required.
Prioritise tasks ensuring Health & Safety and legal compliance tasks are highlighted.
Engage with contractors to ensure RAMS, insurance and training documents are accurate prior to permit to work issue.
Issue permits to work to contractors and in house team.
Procure engineering parts and spares from approved suppliers
Management of site services contractors ensuring high quality service delivery and competitive budget management.
Statutory compliance management for site (deputy duty holder for Asbestos, Ammonia,Legionella, Pressure Systems, PUWER and LEV).
Undertake weekly stock counts and record findings.
Report on stock levels and stock value weekly.
Monitoring equipment and machinery performance and developing preventative maintenance measures.
Maintenance manager skills:
Previous experience working in a Site Services Role
Solid Understanding of site compliance requirements
Solid understand of site service maintenance (eg electric, gas, equipment, water, refrigeration)
Understanding of conducting quality assurance and safety checks on all equipment
Excellent people skills alongside a great communicator
Ability to identify and put into practice improvement ideas.
Excellent attention to detail & ability to Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
