Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to work with one of our Housing Association clients in Shropshire.What the job will be doing* To supervise a team of employees to ensure the continued Building Safety (Fire/ structural) and property compliance for the Groups communal residential and commercial property.* Assist in building-related Health & Safety requirements, offering guidance and support to team members in accordance with statutory and non-statutory legislations.* To monitor the systems used to record, schedule, plan, and complete repairs, building compliance, and maintenance tasks at regular intervals throughout the day to ensure that your team is performing to their maximum capacity, that targets are consistently being met, and that levels of customer satisfaction are above target levels.* To ensure that each employee in your team achieves the desired level of productivity to maximise efficiency and quality of work.* To supervise and support the Resident Safety Technician in property safety and compliance (fire doors and passive fire safety) works, fire risk assessments, building inspections, monitoring records, and audits, to ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and performance measures.* To contribute to the continuous improvement of services provided to the site, with a focus on property safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.What you will need* To work to approved installation guides and techniques undertaking Fire Door / Doorset / fire compartmentation and stopping installations and undertaking remedial works to existing doors, wall, floors ceiling etc.* Able to carry out fire risk assessment to low-risk purpose built blocks of flats.* In-depth knowledge of the relevant fire safety legislation and British standards Maintain up to date knowledge of any changes in regulation and developments in fire safety* Ability to interpret and adhere to the manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring that compliance is always at the forefront of all works.* 3 years’ experience in a housing or construction related environment.* Experience of supervising staff is essential.* Proficient and knowledgeable in preparing works schedules, contract documentation, and administering building contracts.* A thorough understanding of all relevant Health & Safety at work procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and tenants.* Competence and experience in using Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as being able to use bespoke software.* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to correspond effectively with other teams, tenants, and contractors.* NVQ or equivalent in Fire Stopping, Carpentry or Joinery or be able to demonstrate previous experience undertaking this type of work* Full clean driving license.* FIRAS or BMTRADA accreditationHow to ApplyIf you would like any further details about this position, please contact Oliver at Marks Consulting Partners.If this job is not quite right for you but you are looking for something new, please contact us for a confidential discussion.Marks Consulting Partners specialise in contract and permanent recruitment of technical property, regeneration & development, housing services and HR staff to the public sector including housing associations, local authorities, and related private sector organisations.
