The Opportunity:
Are you a hands on, practical and well rounded Maintenance Technician who can repair and maintain mechanical and electrical Food Processing equipment in a factory environment? If you also like DIY and being generally ‘handy’ then this is the ideal role for you. Based in Honiton, you will use your general maintenance skills on a daily basis.
Job Responsibilities:
- The role of Maintenance Technician in this food processing company can be hugely varied and no two days are the same.
- Tasks include carrying out both electrical and mechanical work such as planned maintenance activity, reacting to breakdowns, finding out and eliminating the root-cause of problems and working on continuous improvement projects.
- Carry out preventive and emergency maintenance tasks within the factory.
- Respond immediately to equipment failures during your shift.
- Conduct systematic, rigorous and accurate fault diagnosis.
- Complete ‘odd job’ or DIY tasks on site.
You will need to be proactive and flexible and whilst there will be regular core hours, you will need to be ready to come into work if there’s a major problem. In the Food Industry if the machines don’t work, the products can’t be manufactured and customers don’t get their deliveries. So flexibility is vital.
