Job Description
As a Management Accountant, your main responsibilities will include:
- Calculating and posting journals for Head Office costs (IT, training, T&A etc) and working with HQ stakeholders to understand cost levels and potential savings
- Investigation of variances and high value spends
- Preparation of Head Office reporting packs to help stakeholders / FD understand cost performance and drivers versus budget and prior year
- Working with stakeholders to set Head Office budgets
- Working with Management Accounts team to close month end, including completing key balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of banking covenant checks
- Supporting People team with staff reward/ recognition numbers
- Support on systems projects such as new reporting software
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified (CIMA / ACCA / AAT) preferred, ideally with experience in multi site hospitality / retail or similar
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to explain financial performance to non financial partners
- Good working knowledge of accounting practice and double entry bookkeeping
- Good numeracy and literacy Skills
- Very good attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- An aptitude for general IT, but specifically Excel
- An efficient, methodical and accurate approach to work
- Experience with Access Dimensions preferred but not essential
