Management Accountant

Invesis is recruiting a Management Accountant to join our Operational Finance team based near Glasgow. Working 36.25 hours per week Monday - Friday.

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a passion for finance and administration? We are recruiting a motivated Management Accountant to join our team and contribute to a smooth and efficient financial operation within our company.

Your mission

The role of Management Accountant will involve the day to day financial management of at least 4 Public Private Partnership ( PPP ) projects, both UK and Irish projects, and overseeing the work produced by the accounts assistant for each project. There will be close interaction with the Operations Managers for the projects and assisting them with any financial queries whilst also dealing with various external stakeholders of the projects.

Role & Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management accounts for each PPP project and conduct a comprehensive variance analysis on deviations from the forecasted actuals.
• Generate quarterly reforecasting for each PPP project, providing a detailed variance analysis compared to the previous forecast for inclusion in broader Business Unit reporting and group consolidation.
• Compile a quarterly financial reporting pack for each PPP project for presentation to the Board of Directors during board meetings.
• Update the operational financial model on a quarterly/semi-annual basis for each PPP project. Perform a thorough review of the model to interrogate and analyze results for reporting purposes, producing a comprehensive variance analysis of movements between each model update.
• Prepare the annual statutory accounts for each PPP project and their associated Holding company. Collaborate with auditors as needed, addressing queries to achieve timely sign-off of the statutory accounts in accordance with the credit agreement.
• Collaborate with Operations Managers to provide financial insights into the projects. Address ad-hoc queries as they arise and gain a full understanding from Operations Managers regarding the projects.
• Coordinate with banks, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate the seamless operation of each project and ensure compliance with project requirements and financial agreements.
• Conduct a thorough review of the work performed by the project accounts assistant to ensure completeness and accuracy, including tasks such as examining VAT returns, bank reconciliations, and debt service payments for both external and internal investors.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a positive individual with an inquisitive nature with an eye for detail and for the individual to have the following:

• PFI/PPP experience would be most advantageous but not essential.
• Irish tax and VAT experience would be most advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of SAP would be most advantageous but not essential.
• Extensive knowledge of excel required.
• Financial modelling skills would be most advantageous.
• Good communication skills at all levels.
