We are pleased to be supporting a Norfolk-based charity who are looking for an ambitious Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant to take the charity to their next phase of growth as they support the local community. You will play a pivotal role, between operations and the financial decision-making, in ensuring adequate resources are available to deliver services.
Your new role
In this newly created Management Accountant job, you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts and working closely with budget-holders and project managers to agree budgets and investigate any actual spend vs budget variances, key performance indicators, as well as identify trends, cost drivers and reviewing internal processes to improve overall financial reporting for the charity.
You will also partner with 3rd party supporting organisations in assessing the financial impacts of contracts, including existing services and evaluating the viability of these new initiatives which are aligned to the charities\' strategic plans,
As a Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant, you take responsibility for all financial compliance and regulated guidelines as well as providing clear financial reports & statements for the Senior Management Team and Trustees. This will also involve monitoring restricted and unrestricted funds, grants and donations to ensure income is correctly posted.
What you will need to succeed
You will be a Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant, ideally with a charity background due to the nature of their services, but this is not essential, but proven experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting will be essential.
You will be confident with accounting systems, intermediate Excel and able to review internal processes. The role will involve you engaging with internal and external stakeholders, so strong communication skills are essential, along with the confidence to explain financial aspects of the charity to non-financial colleagues.
What you will get in return
The organisation offers a competitive salary of between £34,000 - £38,000 depending on experience, 28 days holiday plus the Bank Holidays and flexible hybrid working.
