An exciting opportunity for a part qualified Management Accountant to join the head office of a leading regional public sector organisation. As the Management Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing management information using data that drives this information to support most effective decisions
- Preparing information that will offer a management accounting service to a range departmental heads
- Assisting Head of Management Accounts in preparing reports that will be relevant for the senior meetings
- Assisting Head of Management Accounts in the annual budget setting and year end processes, using statistical data to support recommendations.
- Engaging in business development
Acting collaboratively across departments, as a Finance Business partner to departmental heads, you will also be expected:
- To support the Head of Management Accounts, prepare information and reports that will be required when holding monthly review meetings
- To meet with budget holders regularly to enable accurate forecasting and agree management actions to address variances, using data that drives this information.
- To use statistics and data to inform accounting adjustments.
- To ensure budget reports are accurate and contribution levels monitored
- To support in the reconciliation of a range of balance sheet control accounts.
- To support in providing and communicating productivity information to improve organisational efficiency.
- To support in providing financial analysis to support business development.
- To assist in the annual budgeting process, using statistical analysis and trend information to support recommendations.
- To contribute to the production of the financial year-end accounts.
- To participate in the development and implementation of financial strategy.
- To support in analysing, reviewing and reconciling all income and expenditure variances.
- To provide Induction and training of new staff
