Description
Reporting into the Finance Director, the key duties for the Management Accountant are:
- Managing month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Monitoring the daily performance of the accounting department
- Organising financial data and maintain updated records
- Tracking the progress of financial and accounting objectives
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Assist in formulating strategic and long-term business plans.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure annual audits are carried out.
- Aware of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
- Ad hoc duties
Profile
A successful Management Accountant should have:
- Experience in a similar role or studying a finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA)
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant software ( Preferably SAP)
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices.
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
