Management Accountant

Selective Recruitment are seeking a fully qualified ACCA or equivalent Management Accountant on behalf of their client based in Cowley, Oxford. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years Management Accountant UK work experience, be motivated, and have a positive can-do-attitude. You will be working for an established, international organisation who are industry leaders in life-science sector.

The successful candidate should have a strong understanding and experience in all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting tasks, along with a proactive approach, exceptional communication and organisational skills, and keen attention to detail. The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks with minimal supervision is essential. Proficiency in Sage Line 50 or a similar accounting software is required, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Job role: Management Accountant

Location: Cowley, Oxford

Contract: Perm

Salary: DOE Up to GBP55,000

Hours: Full Time

Primary Responsibilities:

• Overseeing all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping such as sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, bank reconciliations, monthly management accounts and expense management.
• Handling HMRC returns
• The preparation of payroll
• Being a main point of contact for benefit providers and auditors assisting with the preparations for annual accounts.
• Preparing financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
• Knowledge of handling cross-currency transactions

Candidate specification & Key Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar
• Certified Management Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) preferred.
• A minimum of two years' experience as a Management Accountant in a related business
• Proficiency in business management and accounting software, such as Sage 50 and advanced Excel essential.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Superb leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
