£51,762 - £55,841 (including £2,264 market rate supplement)
Some exciting opportunities have arisen within the Bedford Borough Council Finance team for CIPFA/CCAB/CIMA-qualified Management Accountants, one in the Technical Team and one working with the Corporate Services directorate. Bedford Borough Council is one of the fastest growing unitary authorities and there are some inspiring projects in the pipeline, where a determined, detail focused candidate could make a real difference.
Bedford’s Finance team is designed to be an effective partner to the service: driving decisions upfront to improve performance, including Bedford’s diverse capital programme, which includes road and rail upgrades. We are now looking for motivated and enthusiastic finance professionals to be part of this.
In both roles, you must be able to work at pace and have excellent communication skills as you will be talking to a wide range of financial and non- finance stakeholders. You will have a broad remit, access to wider developmental opportunities and the support of experienced finance professionals throughout the team. The successful Candidates for both roles will be members of CIPFA or a CCAB body.
For the Management Accountant – Technical role, you will be responsible for the management of the Council’s Fixed Asset Register, delivering technical financial advice across the Council, supporting the Finance Business Partner in the delivery of the Statement of Accounts and managing a team of Financial Analysts.
For the Management Accountant – Corporate Services, you will work closely with the Corporate Services Directorate to provide financial advice to all levels of the Directorate relating to Budget Setting,
Monitoring and year end processes as well as providing regular monitoring reports for both revenue and capital and managing a team of Financial Analysts.
