Description
- Manage GL adjustments for month-end customer account movements.
- Assist junior team members to ensure accurate month-end results.
- Support FP&A with forecasting and month-end analysis activities.
- Monitor Risk Governance and Control within the Finance Department with the FC.
- Oversee assistant accountants and handle technical accounting areas such as IFRS 9, EIR, and deferred consideration.
- Ensure credit risk models align with IFRS 9 requirements and maintain awareness of Hedge Accounting.
- Produce consolidated substantiation packs, investigate reconciling items, and manage complex balance sheet substantiation.
- Maintain finance procedure documents, provide team cover, and assist with projects and month-end result analysis.
- Assist in producing annual financial statements for SPVs and support interim and final audits
Profile
A successful 'Management Accountant' should have:
- Knowledge: Experience in delivering financial results is desirable, with an understanding of IFRS 9 requirements. Familiarity with securitisation and loan warehouse structures and Financial Services experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Competencies: Strong IT skills, especially in Excel with complex formulae. Ability to adhere to internal controls, maintain high-quality standards, form productive relationships, and seek efficiencies and improvements.
- Personal Characteristics: Capable of working under pressure, managing multiple tasks efficiently, and meeting tight deadlines. Effective team player, supporting the Financial Controller and developing junior members. Takes ownership of responsibilities.
- Qualifications: Certified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE accountant with demonstrated relevant experience.
- Other Skills: Forward-thinking and proactive in seeking efficiencies and improvements in activities.
