Invesis is recruiting a Management Accountant to join our Operational Finance team based near Glasgow.
The role of Management Accountant will involve the day to day financial management of at least 4 Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) projects, both UK and Irish projects, and overseeing the work produced by the accounts assistant for each project. There will be close interaction with the Operations Managers for the projects and assisting them with any financial queries whilst also dealing with various external stakeholders of the projects.
Your mission
• Production of the monthly management accounts for each PPP project and provide full variance analysis on deviations from the forecasted actuals.
• Production of quarterly reforecasting for each PPP project and providing full variance analysis on changes compared to previous forecast for inclusion in the wider business unit reporting and group consolidation.
• Production of quarterly financial reporting pack for each PPP project for presentation to the Board of Directors at the board meeting.
• Update the operational financial model on a quarterly / semi-annual basis for each PPP project.
• Carry out a full review of the model to interrogate and analyse the results for reporting purposes and produce full variance analysis of movements between each model update.
• Production of the annual statutory accounts for each PPP project and their associated holding company.
• Liaising with the auditors as required, answering any queries in order to achieve sign off of the statutory accounts in a timely manner in accordance with the credit agreement.
• Production of full tax pack to allow tax advisers to produce the annual computation and return, liaising with the tax advisers as required, answering any queries.
• Production of the tax ixbrl output required by tax advisers for submission of the tax returns.
• Liaise and assist Operations Managers with the financial understanding of the projects.
• Deal with adhoc queries as they arise.
• Gain full understanding from the Operations Managers of the commercial realities of each project.
• Liaise with banks / clients / other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations of each project and compliance of the requirements of the project and financial agreements.
• Review workReview of work carried out by project accounts assistant for completeness and accuracy such as VAT returns, bank reconciliations and debt service payments – both external and internal investor.
Who are we looking for?
• ICAS / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
• Ideally 1 to 2 years PQE.
• Experience of PPP would be most advantageous however not essential.
• Some experience of working with & interpreting contractual documentation.
• Extensive Excel skills and ability to work with and interpret financial models.
• Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous but not essential.
• Tax & VAT knowledge (both UK & Irish).
• Ability to communicate finance elements of projects to non-finance staff.
• Highly organised approach and attentive to detail.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities as required.
• Effective at building good working relationships with others.
• Ability to work as part of a team but equally capable of working alone.
• Strong personal values that align with BAM PPP’s purpose and values.
