About Capgemini Invent

As the digital innovation, design and transformation brand of the Capgemini Group, Capgemini Invent enables CxOs to envision and shape the future of their businesses. Located in more than 36 offices and 37 creative studios around the world, it comprises a 10,000+ strong team of strategists, data scientists, product and experience designers, brand experts and technologists who develop new digital services, products, experiences and business models for sustainable growth.

Capgemini Invent is an integral part of Capgemini, a global leader in partnering with companies to transform and manage their business by harnessing the power of technology. It is a responsible and diverse organization of 340,000 team members in more than 50 countries. Our brand promise “Get The Future You Want” reflects our passion for people and technology and highlights the company’s commitment to inclusion and sustainability.
An important aspect of ‘Get the Future You Want’ is to balance hybrid ways of working between your Capgemini office, home, and client location (where applicable). We recognise that it is an imperative to create flexibility so you can enjoy an optimal work-life balance and feel empowered to achieve success. When you come onboard, or before, please discuss this with your manager so you can agree the best ways of working for your role, team, and client.

Get The Future You Want

You’d be joining an accredited Great Place to work for Wellbeing in 2023. Employee wellbeing is vitally important to us as an organisation. We see a healthy and happy workforce a critical component for us to achieve our organisational ambitions.
To help support wellbeing we have trained ‘Mental Health Champions’ across each of our business areas, and we have invested in wellbeing apps such as Thrive and Peppy.

You will be empowered to explore, innovate, and progress. You will benefit from Capgemini’s ‘learning for life’ mindset, meaning you will have countless training and development opportunities from thinktanks to hackathons, and access to 250,000 courses with numerous external certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Harvard ManageMentor, Cybersecurity qualifications and much more.

An overview of the role:

The Energy Networks industry is continuing to experience unprecedented change. The impact of digital disrup-tion is increasing across all parts of the energy value chain, and at the same time regulators are shifting to focus on consumer outcomes. We have an important role to play: The need to understand, design and implement change based on drivers including climate change, decarbonisation of the energy sector, energy storage, new economic models, and new technology are increasing, alongside our core capabilities of customer experience transformation, asset and operations transformation, cost reduction and operating model transformation.

Some of our recent work has included creating the future operating model for our client’s UK operations, de-signing an award winning future customer experience for the competitive arm of a water sector client, deliver-ing a multi-year and multi-dimension change programme for an energy distribution company, and leading the global implementation of change for an energy-technology business. We have also built blockchain prototypes, written thought leadership on the future role of Distribution Systems Operators and deployed agile at scale for new customer experiences through digital channels.

In this role, you will work with our Energy Networks clients to shape their journey, co-designing and supporting their transformation. We are looking for enthusiastic consultants experienced in the delivery of Change to join our Utilities Sector Team and you will be part of the Sector Transformation team delivering successful end to end transformation programmes with our clients.

Consultants in this role will be dynamic in their approach and able to manage change with personality, precision, and predictability to help realise measurable, positive business outcomes. You will focus on the transfer of ca-pability and contribute to the strategic direction of the Capgemini Invent Sector Transformation team, coaching and developing others as well as applying your skills in business development activities.

The work:

No matter the project or customer, your work will have a meaningful impact on society, businesses and lives. It’s really rewarding. And it’s also really varied. You’ll potentially work on a huge variety of projects (some larger than others), so you could gain lots of experience in a short amount of time.

Why this role?

As a Consultant in the business you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:
Bullet points and/or paragraph of role requirements

You will help our clients design and develop solutions which digitise and optimise processes across the value chain, across a variety of directorates. You will form part of an experienced and flexible project delivery team who have real life industry transformation experience, helping clients to realise benefits and transform pro-cesses, operations and behaviours which will lead to improved efficiency, improved customer experience and improved business outcomes.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

We’d love to meet someone with:

Great communication skills, the ability to facilitate world class workshops and maintain regular stakeholder en-gagement are always important, but that’s only part of the story. Change management and Operating Model design includes working with leaders, reshaping organisational roles and aligning performance management targets as well as understanding the cultural/demographic barriers that could get in the way of transformation. In the Energy Networks industry, it also includes delivering change that embeds mobile ways of working in a digital world and supporting all relevant stakeholder groups to understand the importance of data and analytics in supporting improvements to the end customer’s journey.

You’ll bring experience of delivering sustainable change from a range of clients within the Energy Networks industry as well as an agile mindset with an understanding of the relevant tools and techniques. You’ll bring an acute sense of market trends and hot topics about the challenges facing our clients in delivering lasting and sus-tainable change and leverage your insight to advise our clients. In addition, you’ll have the following experience and personal attributes:

You’ll have a good grounding in some or all the following areas:

  • Change strategy: Defining the desired future state of an organisation or function based on the change programme; and designing the change programme itself, including specific initiatives in areas such as definition of essential behaviours, business readiness, communications strategy, learning strategy and the approach to leveraging analytics and measurement tools and methodologies
  • Behavioural Change: Defining the desired behaviours from the organisation and putting in place a be-havioural measurement and tracking capability
  • Enablement: Stakeholder analysis; change impact assessment; change measurement and analytics; communications and stakeholder management; training and performance support; focusing on knowledge transfer to the organisation to sustain BAU
  • Change Tracking: Focus upon the use of data points and analytics; reporting and KPIs to demonstrate benefits realisation associated with Change Management, and calling to action, where needed
  • Digital Engagement: Confidence in integrating digital tools to communications, learning and analytics; current knowledge and experience of a range of applications to facilitate digital exchange

Personal attributes:
To be successful, you’ll be intellectually strong and can evidence the depth and breadth of your critical thinking and are a highly motivated self-starter, bringing a proactive, can-do attitude to project delivery, capable of working independently as well as in teams in our collaborative but sometimes demanding project environ-ment. You’ll need to be credible, with the gravitas to engage effectively with clients on a peer-to-peer ba-sis. You’ll enjoy managing client delivery work packages and building your team leadership skills, providing di-rection, and helping others to develop. In fact, you’ll thrive in this environment. You’ll demonstrate consulting professionalism, resilience, and flexibility - you’ll be able to adjust positively to situations that involve changing tasks and/or location, shifting priorities or ambiguity.

Why Capgemini is unique

At Capgemini we don’t just believe in Diversity & Inclusion, we actively go out to making it a working reality. Driven by our core values and Active Inclusion Campaign, we build environments where you can bring you whole self to work.
We aim to build an environment where employees can enjoy a positive work-life balance. Through our New Normal campaign, we are looking to embed hybrid working in all that we do and make flexible working arrangements the day-to-day reality for our people. All UK employees are eligible to request flexible working arrangements.
Employee wellbeing is vitally important to us as an organisation. We see a healthy and happy workforce a critical component for us to achieve our organisational ambitions. To help support wellbeing we have trained ‘Mental Health Champions’ across each of our business areas. We have also invested in wellbeing apps such as Thrive and Peppy.

Collaboration and Innovation:

We really believe in creating a partnership with our customers. Using our Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE), you’ll get to know the customer’s needs and challenges, demo innovative solutions and quickly solve problems. It’ll help you discover unexpected answers together.

Learning and development:

There’s an endless amount to learn at Capgemini, and an endless number of ways to do so. So, you’ll also have unique training opportunities to take advantage of. Some of our consultants even have the chance to go to Les Fontaine (near Paris, France), where we host a conference. Outside of dedicated training, everyone makes time to help and support one another - collaboration is encouraged across all our teams.

CSR:

We’re also focused on using tech to have a positive social impact. So, we’re working to reduce our own carbon footprint and improve everyone’s access to a digital world. It’s something we’re really serious about. In fact, we were even named as one of the world’s most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute for the 10th year. When you join Capgemini, you’ll join a team that does the right thing.

Whilst you will have London, Manchester or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
