An overview of the role:

As part of the Digital Engineering team in Invent you will work on high profile, impactful projects with industry leading organisations to helping them to define the journey to transforming the way in which they develop and manufacture products and support and maintain them through their lifecycle.

You will use your knowledge and experience to help our clients exploit digital technologies to transform the way they operate and to integrate their manufacturing operations within their organisation’s value chain.

The work is varied and you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of client facing projects across multiple industry sectors. Projects may touch on various aspects of managing products throughout their lifecycle including product design and development, product manufacture and through life support and maintenance.

You will use your business and technical knowledge, together with your strong understanding of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 concepts, to help clients develop the justifications for change, identify the opportunities for value realisation as well as defining the elements that need to put in place to realise their ambitions. This would typically include transformation roadmaps, business cases, operating model design and solution architectures.

The projects you’ll work on will transform our client’s manufacturing operations and will help deliver sustained profitability, efficiency, quality, and behavioural change improvements. You will be able to work with colleagues from other parts of Capgemini such as Engineering, Hybrid Intelligence, Cambridge Consultants to develop compelling, comprehensive propositions for transforming and improving our client’s manufacturing operations.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

We’d love to meet someone with:

We’re growing our team and looking for a wide range of skills and levels of experiences. We’d like to hear from you if you are early on in your career, just as much if you have management consulting experience or indeed have held senior manager roles in Digital Engineering.

We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals with the knowledge and creativity to deliver truly inventive solutions to our clients.

Depending on the stage you are at in your career, we’re looking for appropriate levels of knowledge and/or experience of engineering and ideally manufacturing operations, including one or more of the following areas:

  • Good knowledge of manufacturing operations from one or more of the following industry sectors – Automotive, Aerospace and Defence, Engineering, FMCG and Life Sciences
  • Strong understanding of the technologies underpinning manufacturing operations and their respective capabilities this should include one or more of the following – MRP, MES, SCADA, IT/OT
  • Appreciation of digital twin concepts and their applications to manufacturing
  • Value Stream Mapping, Manufacturing Capacity Audit and/or Operations Strategy
  • Lean manufacturing toolbox familiarity, Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt Certificate as a plus
  • Process and capability models for engineering, manufacturing and through life support
  • Innovation and product lifecycle management processes and value drivers
  • Agile and Lean based delivery methods
  • Experience in either/both TPM and TQM would also be beneficial
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery.
  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
