Managing Director
I am working on a retained search to hire an Managing Director to work for my client within the logistics industry. My client has been established for over 20 years and is a recognised logistics company within their field. They provide a bespoke delivery service and have over 1000 drivers.
As the business delivers on strategic initiatives, they have identified the need to appoint a strategically focused Managing Director who will support the Chairman in growing the business.
As the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leadership across the UK business activity including operations, technical, business development etc. The company prides themselves on providing quality customer service, building long term relationships, customer satisfaction and most importantly being part of a family.
Responsibilities:
- The MD will have P&L ownership and be expected to oversee the business as a whole from operations, budgets, business development, growing revenue etc.
- Develop and implement a long-term strategic plan to drive growth and achieve the company's vision and objectives.
- Track industry trends and market dynamics, identifying new opportunities and potential risks.
- Make informed decisions regarding expansion.
- Assess and review the existing organisational and team structure, making the required changes to up skill capability and drive strategic vision across the workforce.
- Business development, grow revenue, sales, profits for the company
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, retailers etc.
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Provide inspirational leadership across all layers of the workforce, someone who will help shape, implement, and lead teams to deliver short, medium, and long-term objectives.
- Described as a credible, commercial MD who brings inspirational leadership capability.
- Experienced in having P&L responsibility and driving business growth organically through different channels.
- Strong when influencing and steering a well-established and profitable business.
- Pragmatic, resilient and growth focused and brings a can-do attitude.
- Some understanding of logistics industry would be advantageous.
- Currently living within reasonable commuting distance of Milton Keynes
This role offers a six-figure package for the right candidate including bonuses with a view of potential equity in future. A company car may also be on offer.
