Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join our Global Animal Health IT team based in Milton Keynes, UK. As part of this team, you will be responsible for modernising our Animal Health Manufacturing sites by digitising and automating core Shopfloor systems. Your role will involve supporting operational technology, driving business strategies and analytics, and ensuring the integrity of our solutions. This position requires collaboration with various project implementation teams and reporting to the Site Digital Technology Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team to resolve operational issues across Operational and Digital Technologies.
- Support existing legacy and modern Operational Technology systems
- Build relationships with stakeholders and deliver training to business users
- Configure, manage, and operate Operational Technologies, Digital, and Lab systems
- Implement change management practices and sustainable solutions
- Support change controls, investigations, and deviations
- Apply quality management methods and distribute standards
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures to maintain compliance
- Collaborate on capital projects and design strategic solutions
- Develop expertise in key business processes, systems, and data
- Apply Systems Development Lifecycle and IT processes to deliver solutions
- Design, build, and integrate real-time/embedded components
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or significant relevant work experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical areas with IT solution delivery capability
- Experience in IT automation and digital solutions
- Familiarity with Shopfloor systems like data historians
- Knowledge of automated systems and technologies, such as HMIs and SCADA
- Understanding of network infrastructure
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to engage with vendors and third-party integrators
- Experience with SDLC methodology
- Familiarity with EMS, BMS, SCADA systems
Preferred: Quality management and audit experience, GxP/regulatory environment familiarity, knowledge of data integrity in the pharmaceutical industry
