MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER / CREWKERNE

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our client in Crewkerne.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Management Team and collaborate with various departments within the business, instilling best practice in Manufacturing Engineering activities.
We are looking for someone to drive development and improvement of products and processes to improve efficiency across the plant, resulting in reduced scrap, improved lead times and increasing productivity across all manufacturing processes.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an improvement strategy focusing on manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality and safety
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste and improve overall performance
Lead and manage the Engineering Team consisting or Process Engineers, Methods Engineers, Pattern Shop and Stores
Providing guidance, mentoring and training to ensure the teams success and growth
Manage new product projects through to production readiness includi8ng production plan, DFM and project meetings (team and individual)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production and quality assurance to develop and implement new products and processes
Collaborate with suppliers to source and evaluate new technologies, materials and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs
Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshooting problems and optimise production output
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Six Sigma - Green Belt
Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering
5 years + experience in a managerial role
Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing and project management
Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment - casting technologies is desirable
Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong IT skills
Experienced people manager
