Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Location: Tutbury
Salary: £60,395.62 (inclusive of 30% shift allowances and 20% contractual overtime) + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits.
Shift pattern: 3 on, 3 off – 12-hour days and nights

Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, to join our team based at our Nestlé UK&I, Tutbury Factory.
This role is responsible for maintaining and developing the equipment and systems within the factory in a manner that upholds the quality of the operation, with regards to production output, product quality and cost effectiveness.
Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Staffordshire is one of the largest Nestlé factories in Europe after circa £500 million investment over the last few years. The factory is a Centre of excellence for Nescafé products around the world producing freeze-dried, spray dried and pod coffee technologies and is at the forefront of coffee innovation globally.
A day in the life of… a Manufacturing Engineering Technician
As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will be a key point of contact for all technical matters on shift across an area of the factory. You will be working to drive improvements in the performance of machinery and assets, technically supporting the shift leader and developing the technical skills within the engineering and operational teams.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support to the Engineering and Shift Management Teams.
- Problem solving and efficient reactive maintenance in breakdown situations.
- Driving the use of break down analysis to continuously improve asset intensity.
- Completion of planned/scheduled maintenance activities in line with factory KPI’s.
- Supporting the AMM strategy by continually seeking opportunities to revise and improve planned maintenance activities and preventative maintenance plans.
What will make you successful?
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a Manufacturing environment and be able to demonstrate engineering knowledge across maintenance, industrial services and automation.
You will also ideally:
- Be qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent time served apprenticeship.
- Will have completed a time served apprenticeship.
- Will have a hands-on, practical approach to their work, along with a great can-do attitude.
- Will have the ability to deliver compliance in safety, quality, cost and delivery.
- Will be able to support the development of the operational teams.
- Will have strong fault-finding skills and proven experience in a high-speed production line environment.
