Manufacturing Teams Lead

Michelle Denny Recruitment is currently seeking a Manufacturing Teams Lead to join the dynamic Operations team within Merit Plastics based in Diss, Norfolk. The salary for this position ranges from £40,000 to £50,000, depending on experience, with a working week of Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30.

A generous relocation package of £10k is available for the right candidate if required.

As the focal point for the company's manufacturing and production functions, you will mentor and coach factory teams and their leaders, oversee procedures, and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Responsibilities:


o  Provide support to the Production & Quality departments, attending regular meetings to identify problems in current and future production, resolving any technical and resource challenges.

o  Maintain active inter-departmental coordination, communication, and cooperation.

o  To actively participate and implement projects and initiatives.

o  To consistently lead, train and develop the shop floor workforce to ensure they fulfil their potential and ensure standards are met across all shifts.

o  HR duties including rota planning, holiday cover and performance management.

o  Identify and track areas for process improvements.

o  Ensure shifts are operated safely and comply with all HSE rules and regulations.

o  Report changes to job specifications and production procedures which may have operational impact.

o  Aim to better the utilisation of company procedures to drive efficiencies within the business.

o  Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to ensure quality and production requirements are maintained.

o  Liaise with the Engineering department to provide suppliers with accurate and timely information to ensure production deadlines can be met.


What you’ll need:


o  Experience in plastics would be a distinct advantage alongside a sound technical knowledge around production and operations.

o  Successful background in managing and developing teams.

o  Accurate IT skills with the ability to pick up various internal systems with general experience of using Word, Excel, and Outlook

o  Good time management and the ability to run with the changes.

o  Strong communication skills both written and spoken.

o  A mechanical mind, with a hands-on, practical approach

o  A personable, friendly, communicative, and collaborative team-spirited style
