Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Safety First: As a Marine Superintendent, safety is your top priority. Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to make critical decisions, ensuring constant safe vessel operations and environmental protection. Our commitment is to ensure everyone comes home safe.
  • Customer Focus: Our customers come next, and you'll be responsible for delivering top-notch marine management services. Ensure our customers fully benefit from the operational performance of their vessels.
  • Navigational Standards: Execute duties with accountability, including the maintenance of navigational standards. Regularly review practices, procedures, and suggest improvements for the assigned ships.
  • Audits and Compliance: Plan, arrange, and monitor internal and external audits for managed vessels. Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • People Management: Authorize the selection process of Senior Officers, conduct performance appraisals, and actively contribute to their personal development.
  • Safety Culture: Build and maintain a professional relationship with senior ship staff to influence the development of a strong safety culture.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Fleet Cell colleagues to formulate action plans for performance improvement in office and customer KPIs.
  • HSEQ Monitoring: Collect HSEQ statistical data for assigned vessels, monitor health, environmental, and quality aspects, and report to the management team promptly.
  • Cargo Operations: Monitor all cargo activities, ensuring compliance with safety procedures. Liaise with P&I for cargo-related matters and environmental standards.
  • Emergency Response: Attend contingency drills and exercises, contributing to an effective Emergency Response Team.

Essential Qualifications
  • Prior experience sailing on or working with offshore vessels (AHTS, PSV or DSV)
  • Minimum Class 2 (1st Mate) certificate of competency with seagoing experience.
  • Three years' experience as a senior shipboard officer and five years of relevant ship type experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master’s Certificate of Competency (Class 1) with command experience.
  • Good communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with people at all levels.
