Marketing and Digital Content Lead
Grade 6, £32,765 - £35,523(inclusive of local weighting) depending on experience. Full Time. Permanent. Based at Hertford Theatre with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours. The closing date is Friday 26th January at midnight.
About the role
A rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing and Digital Content Lead has become available to work at Hertford Theatre as part of the new team relaunching the building after a 4-year hiatus and a £24m redevelopment. This is an exciting time for you to join us and develop your career as we seek to strengthen and deepen the programme of films, theatre, live events and community work in our 550-seat theatre, 150-seat studio theatre, dance studio, community room and 3 dedicated cinemas.
The successful candidate will support the Marketing and Communications Manager with all Marketing and promotional activity for the new arts building with a focus on cinema and Digital Content. The ambitious and highly professional team at Hertford Theatre are looking for someone to join them who is committed to excellence in their work and to growing new audiences through a broad range of theatre, film, and community events. If successful, you will support marketing all aspects of the new operation; maximising the Spektrix CRM ticketing system to ensure the cultural and commercial success of the programme in line with the business plan. The post holder will line manage the Digital Content and Cinema Assistant.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with the delivery of the marketing strategy for the venue.
- Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in the successful deployment of the CRM ticketing system to inform the broader marketing strategy with a focus on digital marketing.
- Create compelling and relevant social media content across all platforms including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn etc. in line with branding and marketing guidelines.
- Schedule Social Media content with Hootsuite (or a similar software package)
- Create social media content to reflect and market all events across the business.
- Source and create relevant video and photography to feature on our social media platforms and website.
- To assist with monitoring marketing activity using social media insights and google analytics to help ensure marketing activity is targeted and responsive.
- Oversee and maintain the website including the creation of content to ensure an up-to-date profile of the building and its activity.
- Oversee and maintain the on-site internal and external digital signage offer to ensure an up-to-date profile of the building and its activity.
- Gather relevant data as requested to articulate the business plan and inform programming strategy.
- Monitor ticket sales and communicate any concerns to the appropriate stakeholders, liaising with promoters and producers to ensure income is maximised and targets achieved.
- To maintain an awareness of current trends and influences with specific reference to entertainment, film, culture, and the arts.
- Line manage and supervise the Digital Content and Cinema Assistant with enthusiasm and by example.
- To act as an ambassador for Hertford Theatre, its values and mission.
About you
This role will suit an ambitious, experienced Marketing and Digital Content professional who is keen to make their mark on a significant, new arts building in Hertfordshire. If you are an enthusiastic team player with a capacity to work independently where necessary, have an eye for detail and are well-networked in the theatre and film sectors then this role is for you.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of marketing within an arts or cultural setting.
- Experience of working as part of a marketing team within an arts or cultural setting.
- Experience of marketing a wide range of small/middle scale shows, films, and events.
- Experience of marketing a range of community, education, and outreach activities.
- Experience of managing and optimising market-leading back-end CRM ticketing systems eg Spektrix and/or Ticketsolve.
- Proven track record of imaginative and creative digital design and familiarity with a range of associated software packages.
- A good understanding of the role and function of social media platforms and messaging in relation to arts and culture marketing
- Experience of gathering and interpreting data to inform sales initiatives and strengthen programming.
