SoSweet has an exciting opportunity for a pro-active Marketing Assistant to join our fast growing team based in our Head Office in Bideford, North Devon. We have recently hired a new Marketing Assistant to the team, this role is in addition and to support our ever growing team.
SoSweet is nationally recognised as ‘The UK’s Favourite Sweet Shop’ and has developed an excellent reputation for dominating the retail confectionery industry online and in the South West of England. We currently operate 12 physical retail stores, multiple retail websites and we are the #1 TikTok Shop merchant in the Sweets Category. We have a clear growth plan to reach 20 stores by 2025, further develop our online sales channels and launch a wholesale offering both online and in person. This is a very exciting time to join such a fast growing business in the early stages.
As a Marketing Assistant at SoSweet you will be responsible for developing compelling content for social media (excluding TikTok), as well as managing and engaging our community within the channels. You will produce graphics for both online and offline marketing, social assets and newly developed products. You will ensure all product photography is high quality and kept up to date.
You will work closely with the Marketing Manager and current Marketing Assistants to ensure the marketing strategy is implemented.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, willing to learn, a team player and pay attention to detail. We operate in a fast paced industry and environment, therefore you must be able to work to tight deadlines, manage your time effectively and prioritise tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop compelling content for Facebook and Instagram, including social media posts and videos
- Produce graphics for social, product labels and any other marketing materials
- Ensure all product photography is high quality and kept up to date
- Manage social media accounts, including posting content, responding to comments, and engaging with followers
- Monitor social media trends and incorporate them into the content strategy
- Assist with creating promotional materials such as posters, flyers and brochures
- Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and best practices, implementing new strategies as appropriate
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and the rest of the marketing team to ensure consistency across all marketing channels
Skills and experience:
We're not interested in university degrees or qualifications, we're more interested in you as a person and your drive to deliver success to the business. In our opinion, your character and experience speaks volumes over any qualifications.
- Previous experience in a marketing position is essential (at least 1 year)
- Experience working with social media and creating compelling content
- Strong graphic design skills with previous experience working with Canva or InDesign
- Excellent organisational skills and forward-planning is essential
- Must be able to work off your own initiative to produce creative work on tight deadlines
- Excellent written English and strong communication skills
- Pro-active and 'can-do' attitude
