Job PurposeThe Marketing & Communications Manager will actively uphold the ethos and values of St Leonards School, managing, protecting and projecting the School’s reputation both locally and further afield. With overall responsibility to deliver an agreed Marketing plan, the post holder will work towards strategic targets and direction as agreed with the Head of External Relations. This is done by providing key stakeholders, and the broader community, with effective communication, branding and information-sharing concerning St Leonards. The role will involve promoting and raising the profile of the School in target market segments, both locally, nationally and internationally, protecting and helping to manage the high standards and reputation the School has attained. The role sits within the External Relations Department, a collaborative structure encompassing Admissions, Marketing, Communications, International and Alumni Relations. There will be some cross-departmental support to Development and Commercial Operations as well as line managing the Marketing team. The postholder must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication, organisational skills and a ‘growth mindset’ to be successful in this role.Key Responsibilities: The delivery of a rolling annual plan for St Leonards’ Marketing activities with the achievement of associated targets, in line with the overall External Relations departmental plan and working under the direction of the Head of External Relations.Responsible for the content, presentation and maintenance of the School’s corporate website and other social media sites in line with the wider digital plan. Directing the Marketing Officer on regular content updates as well as monitoring the School’s profile and online presence on third party sites.Regularly reviewing, producing and quality assuring all marketing materials (including the creative development and delivery of print and third party advertising), ensuring editorial accuracy and a consistent visual and written style/tone of voice in line with the agreed brand identity.Responsible for the delivery of school e-newsletters for both Senior and Junior schools and other partner and boarding newsletters including content creation and proofreading. Responsible for the compiling of the annual School Magazine (The Gazette) - liaising with Heads of Department and other teaching staff to write and obtain copy. Proofreading and working closely with the design and print company to produce and deliver the magazine ready for distribution at the end of the Autumn Term.
