Job description

We are a football club with a desire to be the best and are always looking for talented people to join our Everton Family.
Everton is a workplace people crave to join, where extraordinary talented people belong, thrive and deliver the remarkable.
Marketing Lead - Club and Womens
Who are we: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation and professionalism during the course of a glittering history that spans three centuries.
One of the 12 founder members of the Football League, Everton has played more games in English football's top flight than any other club.
While rightly proud of our rich past, and Goodison Park, our home of more than 130 years, we are now setting our sights on an exciting future at a state-of-the-art new stadium currently being constructed on the banks of the iconic River Mersey.
In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our men’s, women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and compete at the highest level of the game.

Our values underpin how we behave, how we represent our club in our city and across the world of football, and how we look after one another and our community. They provide a framework for how we work and engage with partners, suppliers and, most importantly, our fans.

About the opportunity: We have a great opportunity for a marketing professional to join us to cover a period of maternity leave as Marketing Lead (Club and Women’s Team).

As Marketing Lead (Club and Women’s Team) you will have a varied role that focusses on three key areas:
  • Leading on insight driven marketing for the Everton Women’s Team to grow attendances and revenues, develop an engaged fan base and deliver an optimal fan experience at Walton Hall Park. This requires co-ordination with the wider marketing team and colleagues across content, media, social and PR and the Women’s Team Senior Leadership Team.
  • Brand Marketing including supporting the delivery of corporate communications and branding and design requirements across digital and physical touch points across the Club. This includes digital platforms, property estate, internal comms and general Club comms.
  • Providing brand and marketing support for Club Departments and associated businesses including Partnerships, International, Football Administration, HR, Stadium Operations and Everton Free School and Everton College.

Working closely with our Senior Commercial Marketing Manager, you will take an active lead within the department and strive for continual improvement, delivering best practice and achieving results that can be used to benchmark our work against other football clubs, the sports industry in general, as well as other leading worldwide brands.

Not only will you get to be a part of something special as we move towards entering our new Everton Stadium, but you will be responsible for driving forward a key strategic pillar for the Club.

Who we’re looking for: We are looking for a proven marketing professional with experience of working with a design studio, either directly or through an agency, and has working on marking campaigns from inception to delivery – Business to Business and Business to Consumer (B2B and B2C).

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insight and data, brand and the broader resources within the Marketing department to ensure full functionality of the department’s capabilities are realised in respect of every campaign.

If you are passionate about marketing and a self-starter with ambitious spirit who is prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, execute against ambitious goals and consistently embrace our Everton values in what you do, then we would love to hear from you!

This position is on a fixed-term contract up-to 12 months and will be contracted to 35 hours per week.

The location for this role is within our Club’s iconic headquarters in the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool, with the opportunity to work flexibly with our Hybrid working approach.

The closing date of this advert is on Tuesday 2nd April 2024.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a substantial amount of applications.
