The Opportunity:

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic, consumer-centric Marketing Manager within Clarion’s Enthusiast Department, across the Baby portfolio - The Baby Show Olympia, The Baby Show ExCeL, The Baby Show NEC and The Baby Show Manchester.

Born in 2002, The Baby Show is the leading Baby, Pregnancy and Parenting B2C Event in the UK. Taking place four times a year at ExCeL London, NEC Birmingham and Olympia London, the live show supports some 85,000 expectant and new parents, babies and grandparents every year.  With the show being the nation’s largest shopping destination for all things baby, attendees can compare, try and buy from over 350 brands. It also offers a unique visitor experience with free support, information and advice from the UK’s leading baby and parenting experts on everything from sleep, birth, breastfeeding and first aid to weaning and development.

This exciting new role offers a great opportunity to have an impact on all the above events. The role will manage and work closely with the Campaign Marketing Executive & Digital Marketing Executive to implement each marketing plan in line with the event strategy. You will report directly to the Show Manager, and they will provide the opportunity for development in addition to leadership, support, and guidance.  We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, articulate and extremely competent, customer-centric individual who is ready to take on the responsibilities of Marketing Manager. The candidate will be responsible for setting the strategy across these events, leading the marketing team through the implementation of the marketing strategy delivering to the highest standards on time and within budget, and managing key stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing and delivering marketing communications campaigns for The Baby Show portfolio with targets based on budgeted ticket revenue and volume.
  • Driving commercial marketing activities surrounding new media/digital partnerships and maintain existing relationships.
  • Heading-up and overseeing marketing and media partnerships.
  • Creating new and managing existing commercial opportunities associated with ticket packages.
  • Overseeing the organisation of promotional activities, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and within agreed budgets.
  • Managing the marketing communications team (including agencies and temporary staff) to ensure it is motivated to carry out its responsibilities in achieving objectives.
  • Overseeing negotiation with suppliers to ensure the highest levels of delivery in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Monitoring, maintaining and regularly reviewing relationships with suppliers to ensure highest levels of service are continuously delivered.
  • Ensuring consistent use of systems and processes enabling the team to carry out and report on its activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing Management with on-going and post campaign effectiveness reports and recommend on-going improvements.
  • Remaining up to date with the latest communications tools and continuously assess their deployment to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Promoting a culture of testing and change to continuously drive improvement.
  • Managing and monitor marketing budgets, provide accurate forecasts and feed into the budget setting process.
  • Overseeing management and delivery of all sponsor and partner agreements and benefits – delivering all contractual agreements for marketing and overseeing operational commitments.
  • Working with the Marketing Operations team to drive an insight and data led approach to campaign development focusing on strategic targeting alongside real time performance analysis to monitor and optimise channel effectiveness.
